High availability, powerful performance, scalability and a configuration based around your needs.
Our fully managed clustered servers are built for uptime. When other setups crash under pressure, ours keep running — quietly and reliably. Perfect for high-traffic sites, critical apps or anything that simply can’t go offline.
To serve the requirements of busy websites that host an application such as Wordpress or Magento we have designed our Managed Application Cluster.
Traditionally a busy website would be hosted on its own server which can have RAM or CPU's added at peak times (vertical scaling). While this is also possible on our Managed Clusters, we can also add additional servers and spread the traffic between them seamlessly (horizontal scaling). All of this happens in the background allowing you to manage your website in exactly the same way as you are used to.
A clustered server setup spreads your website or application across multiple servers, so if one fails, another takes over instantly. It’s built for high availability and uptime.
If your site needs to stay online no matter what — even during hardware failure or traffic surges — clustered hosting is the safest option. It's used by businesses that can't afford downtime.
Ideal for ecommerce, SaaS platforms, busy client portals, or any site where uptime is critical. If "we can't go offline" is part of your thinking, this is for you.
We monitor, patch, secure, and support the entire stack — from load balancers to backups. You get full peace of mind and proper UK-based support behind it all.
Our Managed Clusters integrate tightly with the following applications allowing cache to be utilised and controlled seamlessly for superior performance: Wordpress, Magento, Joomla, Prestashop, Opencart, Drupal, XenForo, MediaWiki and CS.Cart.
Load Balancer
This component receives all traffic and distributes it to web servers. If any web servers are offline or busy, the traffic gets passed to an available server in the cluster.
Web Servers
The cluster contains as many web servers as required to handle serving the web pages to visitors. During seasonal peaks it is easy to add servers to the cluster.
Database Server
A central database server (or multiple replicated servers) is used by web servers to connect to making sure all contact across the cluster remains in sync.
Performance
Utilising Litespeed load balancers and web servers the speed of hosted websites is the fastest it can be, exceeding any other web server software based on third party tests.
Caching
Popular applications such as Wordpress and Magento can utilise caching built into Litespeed to serve repeated content without having to generate it for each page view.
Redundancy
As all components of the cluster can be replicated in a high availability environment parts can be taken offline (eg maintenance) without causing any downtime to website visitors.
Due to the bespoke nature of our Managed Clusters we can examine all requirements before putting together a custom solution with future-proofing built in. For this reason, we do not have preset packages or pricing but some typical configurations are shown below:
